Condemned Women (1938) [Millie Anson]: Shot in the stomach (off-camera) by a guard during a prison riot/jailbreak; we see the guard firing, but don't see who was hit until we see Anne dying on the floor after all the other prisoners have moved on.

Vigil in the Night (1940) [Lucy Lee]: Dies of diphtheria, some time after she contracts it by performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation on Donnie Dunagan.
