The Ghost and the Darkness (1996) [Helena Patterson]: Mauled to death by a lion when it suddenly attacks her at a train station; the scene turns out to be Val Kilmer's dream sequence, and she survives the movie in reality. (Thanks to AM)

Midsomer Murders: The Killings at Badgers' Drift (1997) [Katherine Lacey]: Shot to death (off-camera) by her brother (Jonathan Firth), in a murder/suicide pact; we only hear the shots from outside the cabin. (Thanks to Nemanja and Djuro)

Scream 3 (2000) [Angelina Tyler]: Stabbed to death by Scott Foley on a staircase.

Young Adam (2003) [Cathie Dimly]: Drowned when she falls into the river, while Ewan McGregor looks on without helping her (knowing she can't swim). Her body is shown being pulled out of the water at the beginning of the movie, and her death is shown in a flashback later on. (Nudity alert: Rear) (Thanks to Eric and Federica)
