|Emmanuelle Riva (1927 - )|
|Kapo (1959) [Terese]: Commits suicide by deliberately grabbing the electric fence in the concentration camp.
I Will Walk Like a Crazy Horse (J'irai comme un cheval fou) (1973) [The Mother (Madame Rey)]: Dies of a heart attack from fright when the cat startles her while she's sitting in bed, anxiously expecting her son (George Shannon) to kill her. (In keeping with the movie's surrealist/symbolic nature, crabs and mice suddenly appear from nowhere and crawl over her body.) Her body is shown again later on as the police investigate.
Amour (2012) [Anne]: Smothered with a pillow by Jean-Louis Trintignant as a mercy killing. Her body is shown at the beginning of the movie when EMTs discover her, and the rest of the movie proceeds in flashback leading up to her death.
