Isabelle Adjani (1955 - )
The Bronte Sisters (Les Soeurs Bronte) (1979) [Emily Bronte]: Dies of tuberculosis. (I haven't seen this, but I'm familiar with the historic facts of the Brontes' lives.) (Thanks to Artur)

Nosferatu the Vampyre (Nosferatu: Phantom der Nacht) (1979) [Lucy Harker]: Bitten on the throat and drained of blood by Klaus Kinski, after she willingly sets herself out as bait to trick him into remaining past sunrise. She dies immediately after Klaus does. (See also Greta Schroeder in the 1922 version.)

Possession (1981) [Anna/Helen]: Playing a dual role, "Anna" commits suicide by shooting herself in the back (thus also shooting Sam Neill through her own body) on a staircase, after they've both been wounded when the police open fire. (Her other role, "Helen," survives the movie.)

Antonieta (1982) [Antonieta Rivas Mercado]: Commits suicide by shooting herself in a church. (Thanks to Vincent)

Mortelle Randonnee (Deadly Circuit; Deadly Run) (1983) [Catherine Leiris]: Killed in a car crash when she drives off the edge of a parking garage while being chased by police. (See also Ashley Judd in the remake Eye of the Beholder.) (Thanks to Christopher)

Adolphe (Adolphe de Benjamin Constant) (2002) [Ellenore]: Dies of an unspecified illness; her body is shown lying on her deathbed when her lover (Stanislas Merhar) arrives. (Thanks to Vincent)
