| The Vanishing (Spoorloos) (1988) [Saskia Wagter]: Buried alive (off-screen) after being chloroformed into unconsciousness by Bernard-Pierre Donnadieu. The chloroforming is shown in a flashback, but we don't find out what happened afterwards until Gene Bervoets wakes up to find himself buried alive while "retracing her steps." We see Johanna at the end of a tunnel of light as Gene runs out of air. (See also Sandra Bullock in the 1993 version.) |
