Mystery and Imagination: The Fall of the House of Usher (1968) [Madeleine Usher]: Dies of shock after escaping from the tomb, after awakening from a deathlike trance; she dies as she collapses on top of her brother (Denholm Elliott). (I haven't seen this version, so I don't know how closely it follows the original story.)
The Maids (1974) [Claire]: Given on overdose of sleeping pills in her drink by her sister (Glenda Jackson), with Susannah's full knowledge and consent; the movie ends shortly after Susannah drinks the drugged wine, but before her actual death.
Superman (1978) [Lara]: Killed in an explosion (along with the rest of the planet's population) when the planet Krypton explodes. (Note: She reappears as a hologram in Superman II.)
